I'll look at everything needed for a platinum trophy and if it's something I think I"ll have fun with I'll go for it. Plus most of the time it requires you to 100% the game anyways which you should always try to do.
-
I'm a sucker for wanting to try to complete everything and anything in a game but I really suppose it has to do with how LONG it'll take to reach 100% completion. I'm a perfectionist but can only take but so much of my own perfectionism. :P

What I hate are achievements that give too many gamer points for too little effort.
-
lol why? those are the best ones, same thing happens with the ones that take hours and hours and you only get 10 points for it. They make up for it.
-
No its just horrible. I played oblivion and beat the game 100% all the achievements. Max level in everything. Every quest complete. And then I played need for speed for 3 hours and got twice as many gamer points for doing nothing. And I hated the game too

It always seems to come out that way. Never quite seems to meet our expectations and/or desires from the game. =/

Lol, well if you were going for achievements you wasted a lot of time going for things that there aren't achievements for. You don't have to completely every quest or get max level on anything, let alone everything.
Oblivion is a rather easy game to get achievements on, one play through, no chance of missing anything really. I got most of them on that game I believe, they're all just completely the guilds and main story. I don't think I ever completed the fighters guild or mages guild. Too boring for me.

I had fun getting all of the achievements on oblivion. Was interesting finding all the quests

So now I'm aiming to get the achievements on Dance Central 2. Am I going to have a stroke trying to get them all? Maybe... we'll see.

I kinda like the achievements/trophies. I will only try to get them if the benefit is worth the time and effort. Some variables to weigh in this equation are: fun factor of the game, fun factor of the achievement, amount of time needed for the achievement, and total value of the achievement (point total or type of trophy). Either way, I am guilty of scanning over a game that I like to see if there are any trophies I should get.
