Age of Empires II : Conquerors Expansion

I've downloaded this game 3 days ago. The last time I played this was 1 year ago. After installing and starting the game, I found the game play colors totally corrupted. 1 year ago, I used CRT Monitor. Now I am using LCD monitor. I though it might me the problem of the resolution.So I changed the resolution of the game. But no change at all.

Note : I am totally novice at these. If you guys can find any solution,please explain it a bit detailed

Right click on the exe. Select the "properties" option. Go to the "compatibility" tab. Select all of the boxes under "setup". Don't choose a compatibility mode. Tell me if it works

Sorry, but I forgot to mention that I've already checked it. it doesn't work.

ok next attempt. Close the explorer.exe process when after you start the game. I believe that putting this into a .bat file will work:
taskkill /f /IM explorer.exe
C:\path to your\game.exe
explorer.exe
exit

When you want to start the game use the .bat file, not the .exe
