Halo 4 "contract"

Apparently, people who get advance copies of Halo 4 are contractually unable to give the game less than a 9.5

what crap. I want to read actual reviews of the game, cuz that's what they're for. I have no respect for Microsoft

The contracts are real. This was a big deal back when one of Gamespots top reviewers got fired for giving Kane and Lynch less than what it was agreed upon. He was right the... that game was terribad. This one may not be. But these do exist.

Are you sure? This seem like something that could be made up just as easy as Bill Nye the science guy "dead" (this was a twitter rumour a few months back)

Jeff Gerstmann was his name... I remember he rated it so low in fact that Eidos freaked out and pulled their ad campaign for GameSpot and Jeff was fired as a result. He later commented that "contracts" such as these weren't uncommon he was just tired of giving games high ratings when they didn't deserve them. I remember EGM used to be offered these opportunities before they closed their doors the first time.

Don't know anything about the Kane and Lynch contract, but the one for halo 4 wasn't real. Becasue the staff member listed on the paper along with other points pointed out in the link I posted were all false.
