Yeah intel is pretty pricey mainly because they have no competition. Intel's put off a lot less heat and run a lot faster, plus they have there overclock ability.

It's the best CPU at the movement as far as price for performance goes. Easily over clockable to 4.3 Ghz without having to increase the voltage, just need an after market cooler.

Still though, for gaming it won't make a huge difference. If you're on a budget, it's best to get a decent cheap CPU and over clock, then pump out the extra cash for the graphics card. Very few games depend on heavily on your CPU.
