Free PC game: Mafia II or Civ V

If you vote for the Golden Joystick Awards you get a free copy of Mafia II or Civ V via Steam. You need to vote and then create an account. Then you need a Playfire/GMG account to claim the game.

Once you complete those steps, you will get an email with the email verification link. Click on it, but it will tell you that you haven't voted yet (even though you have). It will take 24 hours for your votes to register, so in 24 hours you will receive an email with the free game code.

PS: I warn you, the site is bogged down. I had to refresh the vote page a couple of times, but all in all it took me about 15 minutes to get through voting.

PSS: It tracks your cookies. I voted at work and got Mafia II from it. I'm going to try to create a new account when I get home, vote again, and see if I can also get Civ V for free.

That's because you have to wait 24 hours until the site registers your votes. After 24 hours have passed, just clink the link in the email again and you'll get your code

Got it thanks. I had Civ 5 already so I only got Mafia II. I was being too impatient.

I also got Mafia 2 when it was available. But up until now I never had the chance to try it. Heard very different reviews about it, so I hope I didn't make a mistake choosing M2 over Civ
