So they should also do away with all the perks then, right? Since we're so concerned about emulating real-life warfare as much as possible, right?

Do you not see how silly this is? So much of the game is completely unrealistic and you're hammering on one single weapon's "unrealistic" qualities.

Again, play hardcore.

Did you ever play PGR2? If so, do you remember how many people were complaining about how good the TVR Speed 12 was in that game? Well, the M16 is COD4's Speed 12. At least in PGR2 you had to go through hell to earn that car. The M16 is leaps and bounds better than any other weapon in the game and it shouldn't be.
